PLAN A PROOF OF CONCEPT

Plan the workload. Halo Tech coordinates product access.

Halo Database is commercial, licensed software. Installation packages and evaluation licenses are coordinated with Halo Tech. openHalo is a separate GPL-3.0 open-source project. A PoC begins by qualifying the workload and target environment with the company.

From qualification to evidence

  1. Frame the decision

Name the application, source database, business reason, owners, acceptance criteria, and the questions the PoC must resolve.

  2. Share the target environment

Provide the operating system, processor architecture, server count, topology, database modes, and optional components expected in the test.

  3. Confirm package and license

Halo Tech confirms the applicable release and build, then coordinates the installation package and a license prepared for the agreed PoC environment.

  4. Install and verify

Install the supplied build, place the matching license, initialize the database, and verify that the intended modes and services start correctly.

  5. Run the workload and record the decision

Test representative behavior, performance, continuity, recovery, integrations, and operator tasks; retain the evidence, exceptions, remediation, and next decision.

Prepare before qualification

  • Organization, role, country or region, and business contact
  • Source database, version, application purpose, and criticality
  • Required Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL operating mode and database dependencies
  • Target operating system, processor architecture, server count, and topology
  • Representative data, workload profile, continuity, recovery, and operating requirements
  • Acceptance criteria, decision owners, and target decision date
